This page and the next one are dedicated to the fast electric boat scene. This is something that I have personally become interested in and so I decided to make a little space on the site to cover it. Myself and fellow club member Paul are currently building a number of these boats and intend to have a go at racing them this summer.
The pictures above show the first fast electric boat I ever built. It was really just a fun boat rather than a proper fast electric. The hull was purchased from a trade show for £2.00 and I made everything else. The deck and superstructure were made from plasti-card while the wing was formed from balsa. It was powered by a 540 3 pole motor and a 7.2v 1700ma nicad pack. It performed reasonably well but wasn't very quick
