North West Scale Model Boat Club Fun-day (May 2001)

Due to the foot and mouth outbreak, and the closure of our pond, this year's fun-day had to be held at the Mutual Model Boat Society's lodge in Heywood.  The turn-out was quite good with visitors coming from the Ribble, St Helens and Bury clubs.  This was in addition to our own members and those from Heywood.

The weather wasn't too good, especially for May, but most people seemed to enjoy themselves.  The canteen was doing brisk business with the pasty and peas being well received.  Glen from Newhey Models and Jim Worner were the two traders who attended and neither went away disappointed.

Trophies were awarded to the winners and Chris Rigby from NWSMBC was the winner in the adult steering competition.

Unfortunately, due to my involvement with the running of the event and the poor weather I was unable to take any photos on the day.  Sorry!!
